Groupe Godin Timeline

  • 1979 Quincaillerie Godin Enr. opens its doors in Namur, Quebec.

  • 1984 Quincaillerie Godin Enr. expands to 4,500 sq ft.

  • 1996 Matériaux Godin et Fils buys pre-existing Bâti-Tout in Grenville, Quebec.

  • 1997 Matériaux Godin et Fils expands to 6,500 sq ft.

  • 2003 Groupe Matériaux Godin Inc. purchases pre-existing Cash-Way Building Supplies.

  • 2005 Groupe Matériaux Godin Inc. expands to 11,500 sq ft.

  • 2010 Groupe Matériaux Godin Inc. becomes umbrella name for 3 locations.

  • 2010 Groupe Matériaux Godin Inc. Joins the buying group: Castle Building Centres Group Ltd.

  • 2010 Groupe Matériaux Godin launches its first interactive informational website.

  • 2011 December 31st - Mother and founder Mrs. Lise Godin Passes

  • 2012 Groupe Matériaux Godin purchases a brand new fuel efficient Kenworth Boom Truck.

  • 2013 Groupe Matériaux Godin - Grenville renovates/rejuvenates.

  • 2014 Groupe Matériaux Godin - L'Orignal renovates/rejuvenates.

  • 2014 Groupe Matériaux Godin purchases two Matériaux à Bas Prix locations in Dunvegan (May 2014) and Lachute (Nov. 2014).

  • 2014 Dunvegan store grand opening (Oct.5).

  • 2014 Groupe Matériaux Godin - Dunvegan renovates/rejuvenates and a warehouse of 50' X 100' is built

  • 2015 The store of 10000 sq ft in Lachute has been demolished. Another new store is built inside of the existing warehouse. The sales surface expands to 12300 sq ft with an indoor lumberyard of 14000 sq ft

  • 2015 Groupe Godin wins AQMAT Prix Conquérant (Jan 24th)

  • 2018 Groupe Godin switches from Castle to the big Rona/Lowes family.

  • 2019 Groupe Godin celebrates 40 years of service.

  • 2019 Groupe Matériaux Godin - L'Orignal renovates/rejuvenates.

  • 2020 Groupe Matériaux Godin - Namur renovates/rejuvenates

  • 2020 Groupe Matériaux Godin closes Dunvegan.

  • 2020 Groupe Godin acquires a Moffet to offer more delivery options to it's customers.
